DRAWING FOII PUVCES. CONFLICT WiIT.II THE COCNCIL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Wangantit rjolf flub, which Is conducting a championship meeting this month, has refused to adopt the New Zealand Ooum-H's method of drawing for places. The c.-immittee telegraphed that it strongly resented the council's action, and contended that every competitor should have equal treatment. The council held a special meeting, at which it was decided to adhere to the system, and directed the club to aot accordingly. A covering letter objected to the tone and wording of the club's objection, and pointed out that the council had full control, and stated that If lit was to be exposed to such behaviour it might have to consider taking matters oirt of the club's hands. The council further stated that the method of draw was deslgn«l to give the really good competitors a proper chunee. Yielding to the club for financial reasons, the n nml>or of en tries was extended, but it was woll known that a number of <those were poor players, and thoy were not going lo tw allowed to jeopardise the chances of good men, especiaJJy professionals.
