THE OLD STORY. ■Wills made by Mr. Arthur James Price, of Welwyn, 'Herts. Who died on December 22, 1022, leaving an estate estimated f realise about £3000 net, was contested by Mrs. E. L. Castwood and Miss J. M. Pierce. Mr. Bayford, X.C.. for 'Mrs. Casowood. said in 1809 she made tbe acquaintance of Mr. Price"h father and mother, and taught tbe mother to read and write so that she could correspondent -with ber son In Africa. In 1002 Mr. Price's father died, and In 1006 Mr. iPrtee separated from his wife, to whom he allowed i>oo a year. A woman named Mrs. Dlxon, with three children, became hie housekeeper, and when she died she nas succeeded by Miss Pierce, the Dlxon children remaining In tbe bouse. In 1909 Mrs. Castwood left her husband and went to live in Cornwall. Mt. (Price made a will by which Miss Pierce received an annuity at £150, the residue going to the Dixon children. By a later one he gave 'Miss Pierce the whole estate. Mrs. Castwood returned to London and renewed the acquaintance of Mr. Price, and In October, 1922, she spent a week-end at Welwyn. He asked her to go to Fellxstowe with him, and alter some hesitation she agreed. On arrival she found he had engaged only one room. She protested, and he promised to get another. When they retired, however, at 11 p.m., sbe found he had not carried out his promise. He said that as tUe hotel was so full they would have to make the best of it. The room contained two beds. There was no misconduct, but, said Mr. Bayford, It was an extremely unpleasant position for a woman separated from her husband. They stayed two nights at tbe hotel.
