OUR MILK SUPPLY.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—l have just read a letter appearing in your Saturday's issue, signed by ".Milky" under the above 'heading and 1 must add that in addition to fully endorsing bis remarks 1 consider we should have a better and more rigid inspection lit" milking machines and separators on farmWthroughout the country. I myself have-seen part* of milking machines and separators absolutely alive with maggots, and the smell arising from them was indescribable. 1 have also seen the inside of teat cups (through which the milk passes) coated with a slime similar to that which clings to a household drain. I might state that these are not isolated cases, as I have seen parts of hundreds of machines and in very many cases they arc in the above condition. * I will warrant that it" people saw the filth over which their milk passed they would never drink milk again. I am given to understand that there nre inspectors 'but I would like to ask where are they to allow this son of thing to go on? — I am. etc.. "CLEAN ? EM UP."
