Major-General Sir E. W. C. Chaytor arrived from Wellington yesterday, "and is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Norton Francis, of Christchurch, who were arrivals in Auckland yesterday, are staying at the Grand Hotel. Lieutenant-Colonel S. S. Allen, of Morrinsville, is the guest of the Gov-ernor-General at Government House. Those staying ar the Northern Club at present include Mr. W. Clifford, of j Christchurch, and Mr. H. L. Nathan, of Valmerston North. j Mr. H. W. Brodie. traffic manager of the Canadian Pacific. Railroad Company's office at Montreal, and Mrs. Brodie, are visiting Auckland. They are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. C. J. Hewlett, clerk of the MagisItrate's Court, Auckland, has been ap- | pointed clerk of the licensing committees I for the districts of Waitemata, Parnell : and Auckland. i Mr. Kwen Cameron, District Traffic ■ Manager of Railways at Dunedin, died iat a private hospital in Wellington on i Wednesday last, aged r>o years. Born in j Invercargill, he entered the service as a cadet there in ISS3. He is survived by a grown up family, consisting of one son and three daughter?. ! Mr. W. Wallis, New Zealand agent for I the Federal Company, is leaving by the 'Botorua on Tuesday for a visit to England. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Wallis, and expects to be away from the Jominion about six months.
