In the Supreme Court, in the heariag of a charge against an elderly man named William Nott Gooday, charged with having indecently assaulted a little girl at Petone, it was stated that accused waa eighty years of age, and had been a resident of New Zealand for 63 years. Priioner strongly denied the charge. The jury retired at 3.20 p.m. and returned at 8.30 p.m., when it was announced thai they had disagreed. A new trial will take place after the hearing of the Cooper murder charge.
