NEW ZEALAND AWARDS. (Received 1.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Show championship awards include the following:—Stallions: Bloods, Gall's Xizan; trotting, Belmont Stud's Grand Voyage; hackneys, Swannell's Traveller.
Despite a bad season, the district agricultural exhibits are excellent and of a wide range. South Coast and tablelands district takes first honours.
The stud cattle sales in connection with the chow disclose a <»ood demand at firm prices for best quality lots. Other classes are slow of sale.
Hereford?. —Cow, four years or over: Gay Leonora 1, Gay Amethyst 2. Bull, one year and a half and under two: Gay Mansel 35, 2. Bull, one year and under 18 months: Gay Mansel 39, h.o. All were from the New Zealand estate of Mr. Donald Mackenzie.
Clydesdale stallions: Robson"s Xpw Zealand-bred Buchlyvie Keynote, Ist and champion. Four years or oven Blair and Robson's Baron's Blend, 2. Marcs, three years and under four: Blair and Robson's Lady Thornley, 3.
iMr. Parkinson, president of the New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association, speaking to the- Australian Association, said Ire was unpleasantly surprised when inspecting Australian cattle. -With the exception of the top notchers local cattle were inferior to New Zealand. He had seen a few fine animals, but the average was poor. To mention one point, New Zealand would not tolerate for one moment some of the bulls exhibited at the shows, yet Australia continues breedin" from these inferior beasts. —(A. and N.Z. Cable.) .
