THE NORTHERN COMMAND. AXXCAL PRIZE MEETING. HAMILTON KEEPS CAMPBELL V.VSI-I T. L. LEE, COMMAND CHAMPION". A. I). LAMBOIRNE, CHAMPION CADET.

The tenth annual prize meeting of the Northern Military Command Rifle Association was concluded at Penrose on Saturday, and everything passed off in a highly successful manner. Everyone, from the president (Colonel 11. U. Potter) took :i live interest in the gathering. Major Wallingford, the honorary secretary, is not only a good organiser but a rifle enthusiast, and lie and his efficient staff curried out the details of the meeting with conspicuous success. Very gratifying' at those gathering is the interest taken by the cadets. Particularly keen this year was the contest for the Campbell vase, which the holders (Hamilton High School Cadets I succeeded in holding against the Auckland Grammar school team. Corporal T. L. Lee carried off the Command championship and the handsome belt that goes with that honour, and Sergeant A. 1). LniiilKuirne of the Grammar School Cadets was the cadet champion, with Cadet 11. E. Elliott, of Onehunga, runnerup, the difference between the two lads being only two points.

At the conclusion of the meeting the prizes, many of which were very fine trophies, were presented by Colonel Potter, commanding the Northern Command who congratulated the competitors on the interest shown in the meeting. He mentioned that it was intended to choose from these meetings the competitors to represent the Command at the next Army Hille Association's meeting. Details of the shooting were: —

CAMPBELL VASE. The Sir John Logan Campbell Challenge Vase (open to teams of cutlets under 18 years of age), was won by Hamilton High School i the holders!, with a score of OS»S, the runners-up being the Auckland Grammar School team. Each of the winning team received a gold medal. The medals presented to artisan units in connection with the Campbell Vase were won by the 35th Company team; score 808.
