BRICK WORKERS' DISPUTE.
BEFORE CONCILIATION COUNCIL. The Conciliation Council met -this morning to consider the Auckland brick, pottery and clay workers' .dispute. Mr. 'P. Hally, the Commissioner, presided, ! and the assessors were: For the employers, Messrs. J. E. Owen, T. Miller and ■C. F. Gardner; for the union, Messrs. S. Parkes, F. Bernicker and E. Saxon. Mr. S. E. Wright appeared for the employers and Mr. J. Purtell for the union. A number of clauses were agreed to,, but the council was still sitting when the "Star" went to press. In the matter of hours and wages considerable difficulty has been experienced in effecting* a settle-' meht, and it is more than probable these clauses will be referred to the Court.
