NEGRO RUNS AMOK.

ON TENNESSEE FARM. PAROLED CONVICT'S CRIME. (Received 0.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 8. At Spencer, Tennessee, a farm owned by the family of the Tennessee State Secretary, Mr. Haston, was the scene of a wholesale shooting crime by a paroled negro convict. The negro called Mr. Haston's brother to the door, and wounded him. Then he fired at several persons who were rushing to the scene, probably fatally wounding the mother and severely injuring three neighbours. Mr. Haston's sister-in-law dropped dead of fright.

The negro escaped, and is being pursued by a posse.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
