JUMPED FROM A TRAIN.
» MOTHER AND DAUGHTER. LATTER SERIOrSLY INJURED. A peculiar and rather serious tram accident occurred this morning in Upper Symonds Street. While a Dominion Road car was proceeding along the street at a fairly rapid pace between East Street and firafton Bridge two passengers got off from the front platform of the car to the road, and one of them whs severely injured. The two people were mother and daughter. Mrs. anrl Miss Maggie Wilson, of Paeroa. Mr. Wilson is a patient at tlie Huia private hospital, across the bridge, and it is understood his wife and ■ daughter were on tlieir way to visit ! bim. Mrs. Wilson was the first to leave the ear, which tho conductor states was I moving, and though she foil she wne uninjured. Miss Wilson loft the platform immediately afterwards and was thrown violently to the ground. She was I taken to the general hospital by a passing motorist, and on the "Star" going to press- was in an unconscious condition. Her injuries are to the back and head.
