A young Hungarian engineer named Dezsoffy has invented an aipparatus for extracting electric current from the air at small expense. The chief feature of the device is a mast similar to tho=e used fur wireless telegraphy. The electrical energy which is gained from tlie air varies according to the height of the mast. Dezsoffy claims to be able to reach forty thou.-and volts at a height of nine hundred feet. Several houses have been fitted with his apparatus. it is observed that the current is strongest at noon and weakest at midnight. The ftovcrnment is placing a workshop at the disposal of the inventor. — (Renter.)
