General Booth Tucker .'arrived at Wellington by the Corinthic from England on Tuesday night, and was yesterday acocrded a civic reception by the Mayor. Mr.' and Mrs. Brett, of Newcastle, Mr. S. W. Richards, of Sydney, and Mr. JL Flockton and Mr. L. E. Porter, of WeV lington, are staying at the Central Hotel. General Sir Andrew Russell and Lady Russell arrived at Auckland this morning. They are staying at the Grand Hotel, and will ehortly leave for tlw North. Mr. John W. Hicks, jun., managing director of Paramount and Famous Laeky Film service, who arrived by the Niagara on Monday, left for Rotoruai this morning , accompanied by Mrs. TTicke and child. Messrs. H. King and Brownlie were yesterday appointed representatives of the Auckland Education Board on the Workers' Educational Association. Mrs. Ferner was selected to represent the board at the annual conference concern* ing technical education, to be held at Christchurch in May. Mr. A. D. Keeling, of Auckland, has been appointed manager of the Bank of New Zealand at New Plymouth. For some months Mr. Keeling has carried out the duties of inspector in the North Auckland district. . Formerly he wae manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Apia, Samoa. Messrs. H. H. Wauchop, C. P. Agar, A. G. Sherwood, E. A. Robinson, R. B. Selby. and F. H. King, who have been attending the Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's conference ill Auckland, left last night for the south by the Wellington Main.Trunk express. Messrs. J. Brown, H. F. Nees, and F. W. Mitchell, who were also at the conference leave this afternoon by the Rarawa for New Plymouth.
