GRANTED A RESPITE. TIME TO FORM* POLICY. SPEECH OF RECORD BREVITY. (Received 12.-'SO p.m.) MFLROCRNE, this day. The Governor-General's speech at the opening of Parliament was the shortest on record. It stated that Ministers desired a little time to frame their policy. Mr. Charlton secured an adjournment and it is expected that when the House resumes to-day Mr. Anstey, on behalf of the Opposition, will launch an attacK on the Government.— (A. and N.Z.)
