OUR DEBT TO AMERICA.
MISSION TO WASHINGTON. EASING THE BURDEN. (Received 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, December 28. Tbe Rt. Hon. Stanley Baldwin and Mr. Montagu Xorraan, governor of the Bank of England, with two financial experts, have sailed for the United Sttftes on a mission regarding the funding of the British debt to America. Interviewed, Mr. Baldwin emphasised the delicacy of the mission. He pointed out that under present arrangements British payments to America amount to between sixty and seventy millions sterling annually. It was hoped to fund the debt and get the burden of interest eased.—(Reuter.)
