ITALY'S INCOME TAX.
LEVY ON STATE WORKERS. TO BRING IN £660,000. (Received 1 p.m.) ROME, December 27. A decree has been signed levying income tax on the wages of all workmen in the employ of the State or the Communes, including railwaymen and canal workers. The tax amounts to 4 per cent of the statutory wage, plus 10 per cent on all extra earnings. The change will add £660,000 a year to the Italian revenue. — (A. and N.Z.)
