The boxing carnival under the auspices of the Manawatu Association was opened to-night, before a moderate attendance. The chief results were: — Woodward (Hawke's Bayl outpointed O'Keefe (Palmerston North! in a very even light-weight bout of six rounds. In the feather-weight class Howe (Wellington) defeated I'otlmry (Wellington), and Rusterholtz (Wellington) easily outpointed Knrton (Wanganui). In tbe heavy-weight section Jackson (Palmerston North) won every one of three rounds with Young c/Wanganui).
