£50 CHALLENGE RACE. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.) IN'VERCARGIDL. Tuesday. A feature of the sports .gathering on Christmas Day at Edendale was a £50 challenge race over a mile between James Archer and H. G. McLeod, the latter being the professional ex-champion of New Zealand. tbe straight together. but in the nnishlng sprint Archer won by seven yards.
