AMATEUR RECORD BROKEN. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) GISBORNE. this day. At the swimming carnival last evening W. Harris, the Hawaiian champion, broke the New Zealand amateur record for 100 yds, doing tbe distance in 57 l-ss, and lowering the record by 2 4-ss. Harris also swam fifty yards In 25 2-ss.
