Tbe Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company. Ltd., report:—At Hamilton sale on Tuesday, December 12, we had a moderate yarding of cattle and pigs, but sheep were again In short supply. Competition for beef was steady, and values were some- , •what firmer. Steers, Ught. made £6 **/; ; good cows, to £5 5/; forward cows, £3 15/ ; to £3; forward steers drew good bidding, the best selling at from £4 10/ to is 3/; store steers, three-year, from M 5/ to H 7/6; store cows, £1 1/ to £1 5/; young cattle were not penned In any quantity; yearling heifers made to £2 2/; fat lambs, medium, made from 18/ to 29/3; small lambs, 14/ to 17/. Prlceß for pigs were Just the reverse of those reported last week, especially with the fat porkers and 'baconers showing a sharp rise. Heavy baconers £3 10/ to £3 16/, medium £2 18/ to £3 5/: well-finished porkers to light baconers, £2 10/ to £2 15/; Ught to medium porkers. £2 1/ to £2 II; unfinished. 31/ to ; 38/: slips, 18/ to 28/; small weaners, up to , 10/ B. .. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile , Agency Company, Ltd.. Hamilton, reports:— ' At Franktou yards on Tuesday we had a good entry of fat sheep and beef and store cattle In * usual numbers. We quote:—Fat ewes, £1 3/6 to £1 5/6; fat lambs, £1 5/3; fat steers, £7 8/ to £7 13/: ! light steers, at £6 4/5; good fat cows, £5 4/ ! to £5 15/; fight cows, £3 15/ to £4 6/; 2J to tbree-year-oM steers, £3 8/ to £3 19/: yearling steers, £2 7/ to £2 10/: 15-montbs [Jersey cross heifers, £3 17/6 to £4 15/. A good yarding of both fat an* store pigs came forward. There was an improvement is fat pig prices, while stores sold on a
