BRISK BUILDING.
TAKAPUNA MAKING HEADWAY. Building permits issued hy the Takapuna Borough Council in 7J months of the present -financial year represented an estimated expenditure of £115,439. Figures supplied by the Town Clerk (Mr. S. Brittain Bull), at last night's meeting showed how steadily and rapidly the expenditure under this heading had increased:—l9l3-14, £29,824; 1914-15, £38,401; 1915-10. £32,446; 1916----17, £36,739; 1917-18, £19, 908; 1918-19, £16,450; 1919-20, £51,253; 1920-21, £63,955; 1921-22, £81,1*24. At last Might's meeting further permits were granted representing an expenditure of about £10, 474, making an estimated grand total of very nearly half a million pounds in 11 years. Takapuna, it is stated, runs Mount Albert very close for first place in the erection of new buildings.
