WHEN WOMAN DRIVES.
SHE DRIVES RECKLESSLY. SAYS ARCHBISHOP JTJXITJS. (By Telegraph—special to "Star.") CHEISTCHURCH, this day. Archbishop Jilius has evidently hi* own opinions about modern woman. In his address to the Diocesan Synod he remarked that the General Synod h*a adopted the principle affirmed by the Lambeth Conference thar women should be admitted to those councils of the Church to which laymen are admitted and upon equal tcrnis. "We arp told," he continued, "that women will take the place of men in the councils of the Church, as they have already in worship and service. I d° not think so. Women of our day are extremely anxious to assert their independence of convention and restraint. Everyone know? young pirl.- are more impatient to lontrol than boys, women are not hy nature nio n > religious than men. although the narrow sepo of their interests and occupation? hm made it so. Now these are widened, womanb attitude to relipi.m will change, and her steadying inllii'-nco upon society will decline, for, whan woman drives she drives recklessly. To tins tendency we owe in extreme i-jims iho modern woman and her works, her nr-vrip, and her defiance of truth, brauty and goodness. I" all this tb.rr i= plai" neither for surpriso nor despair.
