The Standing Orders were suspended to allow the Mosgiel Borough Empowering Hill to proceed this session. The Tongaiiro National Purk Bill was rcail a second time pro forma and referred to the Statute Revision Committee. The following bills were [ias:-ed: Wellington City Empowering Bill. Land and income Tax Amendment Hill, and Shipping and Seamen Amendment Bill. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. In the House of Representatives thp I Magistrate's Court Amendment Bill (Hon. K. V. Let , ), was read a second' time. This hill simplifies procedure, and authorises legally qualified clerks of tinCourt, under Governor-General's warrant, to exercise the functions of a magistrate. It, also authorises the appointment of acting-magistrates by; liip Governor-General. The bill went through committee and was reported without amendment. The Hou.-c went into Committee en the Fencing Amendment Bill, and on the Harbours Amendment Bill.
