TOKAANU-TAUPO RAILWAY.
QUESTIONS FOR THE COURT. (By Teleffrnph.—Press Association.* WELLINGTON, this day. One of tho conditions of the Tonga - riro Timber Company's agreement is that it shall build 'a railway from Knkabi, on the Main Trunk 'line, to Tokaanu, on Lake Taupo. The line must, be on the Government gauge. It need not be up to other Government standards, but, if a light line is built, it must ultimately lie converted to full power, nnd certain sums derived from the sale of timber must be set apart for that purpose. The Company applied to the Supreme Court to know it a heavy line were built these moneys need not lie set aside, and also if it had power to assign and mortgnge its interest in certain lands. Tbe matter was declared to be orcein, but counsel said the only man "who knew all about the facts was Sir F. D Hell, and he would not be here till November, nor did they know where to communicate with him. The Court gave an affirmative answer re mortgages, lint deferred answering the other question.
