THE EINSTEIN TESTS.

VERY SATISFACTORY PLATES. (Received 1 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Lick Observatory expedition to Wallal has developed its plates for investigation of the Einstein Theory; they are considered very satisfactory/though the preliminary announcement is not expected for some weeks. Professor Begg, of Otago, who was on the totality zone in Queensland, expects good results from the eclipse observations, but thinks the stars nearer the sun's edge may have been recorded less clearly in consequence of the dimming effect of the extraordinarily bright corona. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
