DIVORCE.
A petition for dissolution of his marriage with Ktliel May Cooke was made by Phillip Bryan Cooke before Mr. Justice Stringer and jury at the Supreme Court this morning. The ground of the action was alleged adultery in the months of 1 November and December of laat year| with certain nersolhs who were unknown. Mr. Stanton appeared for the petitioner and Mr. Sellnrs for the respondent, who; did not appear, owing to health reasons preventing her from coming up from' Wellington in time for the hearing. | Evidence of misconduct having been j committed by the respondent ill Xovem-. her and December of last year was given by Herbert M. Brookes and Owen \V. Hughea, private inquiry agents. • The jury found that adultery had been committed, and His Honor granted a decree nisi, to be made absolute in three months.
