! . GREAT EXTENSION WORK. I TENDERS TO BE CALLED. | Much-needed additions are to be made to the Auckland District Hospital. The ], scheme provides for 1-iii additional room* j complete for the nurses' home extension ! and 12 more rooms on each of the lour j floors on the south extension. L'llder this scheme the house manager's residence . will be moved to a suitable site close to > the junior resident ofli-.-er's and medical , superintendent's dwelling. In this |j block three wards, containing DO beds. ' will he provided for. |> Arrangements have also been made for the erection of a woman's infirmary ward at the Costley Home. ; At last night's meeting of the Hospital j' Board it was decided to instruct the | architect (Mr. Allsop) to draw up plans ■ and specifications so that tenders might ji he called at the earliest possible date. j It is considered that the new build- ( ings may cost anything up to £130,000, but this is said to be an outside estimate, and only provisional.
