A returned soldier's troubles as a ; farmer were ventilated at the Court , this morning. He owed £ISO Interest to the Government. There was also another mortgage to the Government of £600 for implements and stock, on which £30 interest was now due. He was a married man with nine children, of whom six were under seventeen years of age. On behalf of the creditor the question was asked if the man was prepared to make any offer. '"How can he make any offer," said His Worship? "He is hopelessly bankrupt. Why did you bring him here? What inquiries have you made as to his financial position since the judgment wae given? No order will be made and the debtor will be granted costs."
