THE ASSESSMENT COURT. ! Tile Auckland Assessment Court conI eluded its sittings this morning. Mr. V. G. Day, S.M., presided, and the assessors were Messrs. IC. Allen and H. E. Vaile. Mr. H. J. C. Coutts appeared for the j Department, j Two properties belonging to Messrs. \ Wingate and Co., in Queen and Little Queen Streets, 30ft by 121 ft, were each , assessed at £ 15.750. unimproved value, j and £4200 for improvements. Two others .. belonging to the same owners in Albert I and Little Queen Streets were also considered. One. liOft x 121 ft, was assessed at £12,000 on the unimproved value and £6250 for improvements, and the other, I 30ft x 121 ft, was fixed at £0000 unimi proved and £1000 for improvements. The j Maoindoe Proprietary's property in the , same locality, 30ft x 121 ft, was set do\yn at £t>ooo unimproved and £4500 improvements. The unimproved value of Messrs. Webster and Tonks' property in Queen Street and Little Queen Street, 31ft X 121 ft, was assessed at £18.750 unimproved and £10.000 improvements. The Court sustained the valuation of Messrs. Hardley's property, 41 ft x 60ft, in Customs and Little Queen Street, at £0750 unimproved and £4250 improvements. A section SOft x 100 ft. in Karangahape Road and Howe Street, owned by J. Dawson, was assessed at £8800 unimproved value and £SOOO improvements, while a property 40ft. x 18(ift in Queen Street and High Street, owned by T. Peacock, was fixed at £43,820 unimproved, with £7000 for the improvements.
