UNION OF THE CHURCHES.
METHODIST CO-OPERATION. PROBLEM OF THE EPISCOPACY. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, July 23. The Weeleyan Methodist Conference at Sheffield approved a reply to the Lambeth Conference appeal for the union of the Churches, expressing a desire to co-operate with the bishops as far as possible in recognition of the value of the episcopate, but its adoption as n Bole and indispensable means of providing a ministry universally acceptable was a question needing careful and prolonged investigation. Difficulties raised in connection with the Church and State formed an important consideration.— (Eeuter.)
