LONDON WOOL SALES. (From Onr Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated :S>th inst.. from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:—"Wool: Sales closed with no material alteration in position. Competition generally good throughout. Home. French and Belgian trades being principal supporters, the latter section purchasing merinos , freely. Best greasy merinos met wltli good demand and sold at about previous rate, but medium and Inferior closed 5 per cent lower. Crossbred lines, which formed large proportion of offerings, nave been irregular and all show decline, fine greasy closing 5 per cent to 10 per cent, medium 15 per cent, and coarse 10 per cent lower than Hay rates. Average closing values: 60-Ws, merino, 1/2 to 1/8; 56's, super halfbred, 11 to 1/6; 50"s. halfbred.
