AIRSHIP COLLAPSES.
CAR DROPS ADRIFT. FAXES INTO THE SEA. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) ROME, July 2. An airship with Admiral Salazar and a crew of twenty aboard, collapsed in the Gulf of Taranto. The wires by which the car was attached to the balloon broke suddenly in heavy weather. The envelope soared skywards, and the car fell 600 feet into the Gulf.
Boats put out and rescued the crew, all of whom were injured. None were killed, though Admiral Salazar is in a serious condition.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
