MISSION WORK IN RUSSIA.
An interesting lecture on Russia was delivered in 1 lie P.nptise Taliernach. nn Thursday by l!ev. I). 11. .Moore, special representative of the Russian Missionary Society. The speaker, after traversing the modern history of llussia, said the present (iovertiment did not represent the Russian people. The population was compelled to submit to the present regime because no other course was open to them. The Russian Missionary Society and other religious bodies were meeting with wonderful success, and a great evangelistic work was lieing done. The call to practical sympathy and help in the line of relieving the poverty and distress in Russia and forwarding the work of the Russian Missionary Society was one which the speaker was sure would lunch every earnest Christian. At the conclusion of the lecture a collection was taken up to aid the society's work, and nn impressive appeal was made for the consecration of the Uvea of young men and women to the service of Cod in foreign mission fields.
