j At a meeting of the Waiuku Chamber of I Commerce, wheu the time-table for the .Waiuku train was being discussed, the secretary was instructed to write to the traffic 'manager thanking him for the consideration ! given to the Chamber's proposed time-table jfor Waiuku. which is as follows:—A dally [train leaves Waiuku at 6.20 a.m.. arriving at Aucklaud at fl a.m.. and a train leaves Auckland daily at T.lo. arriving Waiuku 110.20. On three days a week a second train leaves Waiuku at 2.:i0. arriving Auckland i) p.m.. and the 4 p.m. train from Auckland .will bring passengers, arriving Waiuku at G. 20. also hringing the second mail and 'evening papers. The traffic manager was expected to be in Waiuku shortly. and it •was decided that the secretary be asked to arrange an interview with the Chamber. i The water and drainage scheme for I Waiuku has been engaging the atten- | tion of business people for some considerable time past, but nothing definite ; being clone by the local authorities, it was considered that it was time that the ratepayers were called together and the position placed before them. A second telephone wire to Auckland has been admitted as being necessary, oaring to 1 the large number of subscribers, and the necessary wire has arrived, but the work is being held up owing to shortness of labour.
