A ZOO FOR AUCKLAND.

(To the Editor.) Sir,- In -a city of many attraction?, not only to our own citizens, but to visitors, the greatest would be a zoo. Yon have only to stand on the streets of Wellington on a Sunday or holiday anil see the crowded cars on the way to Ncwtowu Zoo. Not only is it an (rdinarv attraction, hut look what an i 'hieatinn it is to i»«nwH« children. My most pleasant recollections of eailv school days were the lessons on animals —then taken only from pictures. Howmuch more pleasant and natural would be Nature's own studies'!- I am. eic.. K. B. DUNCAN.
