At a meeting of the New Zealand ISoxing Council a protest was received from the Northern Association against MeCleary aud Whitaker matched for the heavyweight ehampiouship. the association claiming that the championship should have reverted to I'ooley. A reply has l<eeu sent that the council acted as provided by the rules.
