MOUNT ALBERT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Tlie Mount Albert Rorough Council met last evening, when the Mayor (Mr. A. t\ Beuuetti presided. There were also presenters. A. M. Wilson. U. J. AlUnsbam X S Inwood. (.;. tt. MetciUfe, A. J. Jenkin, L. (J. Ithodes, and Armstrong. The council passed a resolution of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr. Henry Symous. of the "Eden Gazette," The Mayor, when paying a tribute to the regard in which he was held in the district, said Mr. Kynion*' face would be much ml.-sed at council meetings. To his wi.low he extended his deepest sympathy. The motion was i-arrled in silence. The Mayor intimated that the liorouzh's apportionment in connection with the Hospital Hoards levy, showed an increase i>£ £."nii for the year. This was due. he raid, to increased valuation. He remarked however, that there was a reasonable prospect for a reduction in the levy next year. The I'ostmaster-fienerai wrote statint: that at the. present time it was impossible ;o erect a slot telephone at Mount Albert terminus. It was decided to aeain commiiDlcate with the Department with reference to the matter. The huilding inspector reported that remits to the value of £13.845 had been granted to date this month. The council unanimously decided to vote the Mayor an annual honorarium of £100.
