ELDERLY LADY'S DEATH.

I MATTER FOR POLICE. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. At an inquest at Hamilton yesterday on the body of Sarah Jane Oullen, an elderly lady, who was killed as the result of a. motor accident in Victoria Street, on April 13th, it was shown that the old lady was rather deaf, and apparently came suddenly from 'behind another car 'before Thomas Shannon, the driver of the car connected with the accident, could apply his 'breaks. A verdict of accidental death was returned. The coroner, Mr. H. A. Young, 8.M., added that Shannon had given no adequate explanation of why, if he had been keeping an adequate look out, he did not see Mrs. Cullen in time to avoid running into her. The matter, he stated, was open for the police to ' consider.
