BANKRUPTCY COURT.
A sitting of the Supreme Court in Bankruptcy was held this morning, Mr. Justice Reed 'being on the Bench. The following debtors, were adjudged bankrupt: Alfred MeGuire (on the petition of Dr. H. B. McKenzie). R. Davenev (on the petition of the Farmers' Cooperative Auctioneering Co.. Ltd.), and Elizabeth Catherine Crass (ou the petition of George Alfred Smith). Numerous other applications were adjourned. Francis Thomas Meyer (Mr. lnder) applied for a motion for discharge. The Official Assignee (Mr. W. S. Fisher) opposed tire application, on the ground that bankrupt had been rash in speculation. Mr. Inder stated that the whole of the debfc represented mortgages on properties, .there were no ordinary trade debts. Bankrupt, while in the South Island lost 3000 sheep through a heavy snow storm some years ago, and in order to make up his loss the bankrupt exchanged his property. He then got further into debt. His Honor said that ther* was no ground to withhold discharge, and granted the order. The Official .Assignee did not object to a motion of discharge in the case of Mate Srohj (Mr. Osburne-Lilly), and his Honor granted the order discharging bankrupt.
