INDIAN GAOL MUTINY.
QUEIXED BY TROOPS. THREE KHXEJD, MANY INJURED (Received 1.30 p.m.) DELHI, April 27. A serious mutiny occurred in the Pre sence Gaol at Calcutta, arising out o: discontent engendered by the belief tha political prisoners received better treat ment than other prisoners. The troubli came to a head when a •warder 6trucl a prisoner. Eighteen hundred convict refused to parade, armed themeelve with, sticks and eledge hammers, am attempted to rush and set fire to th jute sheds and oil tanks. The warder fired, but the outbreak was not quelle< till armed troops and police arrived The gaol is now under military contro The casualties are reported to be heavj and at least three have been killet Some buildings were damaged by fire.(A. and N.Z.
