Meetings have been held in all the principal towns of the Commonwealth and New Zealand at intervale of two or three years since ISBB. No meetings, however, were held between. 1913 and 1920. The objects of the Association are officially given as follow: To give a stronger impulse and more systematic direction to scientific inquiry, to promote intercourse among those who cultivate science in different parts of the Commonwealth of Australia, the Dominion of New Zealand and in other countries, to obtain more general attention to the objects of science, and the removal of disadvantages of a public kind which may-impede progress. Tie meeting u-ill take the form of public lectures anij scientific discussions, besides excursions and various social functions. A meeting of the "Wellington committee was held to-day. Professor Kirk in the chair. A numher of subcommittees were appointed. It was decided to ask the heads of jail the local public institutions to co-operate, and by this means a large reception committee will be formed. Scientific societies in other centres will also be asked to assist in making the gathering a success.
