EMPLOYMENT OF RETURNED SOLDIERS.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—We had all the "cream of the milk", from the speakers in the Town Hall on "Anzac Day,'" but what about the.other side of the picture? It strikes mc that the powers that be could show a real appreciation for our glorious dead by "doing their bit" for those who survived. It is all very well to talk of the grandeur of dying for one's country, etc., but it seems ironical to those who, like myself, find it hard to obtain even the necessaries o! life for our wives and children. There are hundreds of such in Auckland; there should be none. If we won the war we should reap the fruits of victory.—l am, etc., ■£__..,,,. . FRONT LINE.
