PAKURANGA HUNT.
The meet of the hunt on Wednesday took place at the school. Mt. Rosklll. There was a very fair attendance ot" members and riderqualifying horses assembled at the meet Her Exccllencv Viscountess Jelltcoe and .ci twij daughters, the Hous. Myrtle and Nora ■ were among those who motored out. Short.; af-er 11 30 o'clock hounds and followers i rj cecded to Wlnstone's well-known property | which Is still farmed by Messrs. Humphrie: and Felthain. who have always extended a welcome to hounds and followers to huni their land. The field just pasr the mail entrance was first drawn, and on crossins over some swamp land a hare was short': afLer set going, which provided good sport hounds hunting fast and well, the pad : comprisiug eighteen couples, including eievei l" couples of young bounds, constituting a new ' entry for this season. Hounds were alway, !on good terms with the quarry, which waeventually run to earth near a disused stal*.' Owing to the wet weather of late tbe coun try was found rather difficult for follower: to cegotlare In places. Hares seemed plenti ful. the scent lay well, and hounds huntet very Ifast throughout the afternoon. Shorrlt after '3 o'clock hounds were taken home members expressing themselves as bavin; enjoyed quite sufficient good sport for th< day "at Mt. Rosklll. Her Excellency was riding tbe grey hunrea : Leinster. the Hon. Myrtle rode a smar grey cob. and handled her new mount witl comrrsnda'qle courage, while the Hon.
