EXPORT OF TIMBER.
NEW REGULATIONS GAZETTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", Thursday. The following amending regulations relating to the export of timber have been gazetted: —Notwithstanding anything- to the contrary in the umber regulations of August 6, 1918, as amended on February 18, 1919, the Board of Trade shall not without t_e consent of the Minister in Charge of Regulations permit the export of any rimu, kauri, or beech timber produced in New Zealand during the periods mentioned in the schedule in excess of the quantities specified in that schedule for the 6aid period. Schedule, part 1: Maximum quantity of rimu that may bo exported by sawmills engaged in the export trade prior to 31st December, 1018. Periods Ist April, 1022, to 31st March, 1923, 15,000----000 ft; Ist April 1023. to 31st March. 1924, 12,000,000 ft; Ist April, 1924, to 31st March 1925, 9,000.000 ft: Ist April, 1925, to 31st March, 192G, 0.000.000 ft.' Part 2: Maximum quantity of rimu that may be exported by sawmills not engaged in the export trade prior to 31st December, 191S: Periods Ist April, 1922, to .'list March, lf_.'s, 2,000,000 ft; subsequent years nil. Part 3: Maximum quantity of kauri that may be exported in "period Ist April, 1922, to 31st March, 1923. 1,500,----000 ft! subsequent years, 500,000 ft. Part 4: Maximum quantity of beeoh that _ay be exported in period Ist April, 1922, to 31st March, 1923, 2.soo.ooofteach succeeding year 2.500.000 ft.
