ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
A meeting was held in the Ambulance Station, Rutland Street," to welcome home Mr. C. J. Tunks, Assistant Commissioner, and to present certificates to members who gave voluntary service during the 1918 epidemic, also to organise the brigade in readiness for another outbreak if such should occur. There was a. splendid attendance of both nurses and men. Mr. F. J. Hutchinson, Senior District Superintendent, in charge, was in the chair, and in welcoming Mr. Tunks, spoke of the good progress of the work during his absence in England. Mr. Tun'ks thanked Mr. Hutchinson for i the very able manner in which he had j coped with the large amount of work
and responsibility during his y«*r of ab-1 sepce. Mr. Tunis in an interesting address told of his travels in England, and of his'vJßit to' St. John's "Gate, Clerkeh-we-11, where he saw wonderful relics of former days. Tbe epidemic certificates were presented, also several five years' service certificates, and a committee of officers was formed to deal with future business.
