A SPECULATOR'S PROMISES. LONDON, March 30.

George Hunt and his associates have been committed for trial on charges of swindling in connection with a turf betting scheme.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)

A cablegram, published on January stated that a warrant had been issued for the arrest of George Hunt, well known in speculative circles in London, in connection with what was likely to develop into a gigantic fraud case. Several minor arrests had been already effected in connection with alleged swindling, whereby large numbers of people were persuaded to invest in racing speculation on the inducement that every £100 would return them £5 to £10 weekly.
