KNIGHTS OF THE ROAD.

LADIES' NIGHT AT TRAVELLERS' CLUB. The annual "ladies' night" given by the Auckland Commercial Travellers anil Warehousemen's Association at the club rooms on Saturday evening was the most successful function yet held of this kind. The president (Mr. A. Thompson) presided over a very large attendance of members and their lady friends. Dunn" the evening the silver cup presented by one of the vice-presidents (Mr. Ernest Davis) for competition at the club's annual picnic, was formally presented to Mr. T. J. Virtue. Tlie winner of the cup was also presented with a line gold medal. A really high-class programme of vocal and musical items, arranged by Mr. M. Lewis (chairman of the Social Committee) was contributed to by the following: Mrs. Eva Sharp, Mrs. W. Morris, Mrs. Kilmartin, Miss Thelma Davies, and Messrs. M. Lewis, Lamont, Gir, D. Flood, McFarlane, _. C. S. Hamblin, H. Ware, and G. Smith. Mr. L. Elliot was a most efficient accompanist. Supper was served in the billiard room, which was gaily decorated, a Most enjoyable function being terminated with, the singing of the National Anthem.
