Botti lare done good public service for the district for about ten years, and will be accorded the best wishes from a large circle of irlendo for their future welfare. \tr F Hughes presided at the monthly meeting of the Hunga-hanga Drainage Board. A letter was received from Mr. AO. Bowen, asking that a drain be extended in the Orongomalroa Estate. The matter was TeferreJ to Messrs. Hughes and Mathers to report upon. It was decided to invite fresh tenders for improving a section of the Pirnuuul drain. The board's solicitor advised that there was power to stop the N.Z. Dairy Company from draining flushings from theXVailK'U factory into the nriaunui srreani. The offer of tne company to contribute f3" was accepted without prejndi-ce. It was decided to atflx the seal or the board ' to a petition praying the Governor-General to merge the Waihekau and Hunpa-hunjia drainage districts.
