CONTENTIOUS BILL DROPPED.
i m — (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. One sign that the Government is not anxnouß to prolong the session was given hy the Promier to-day. He said it was not intended to proceed this session with tho Official Secrets Bill. The measure has not yet ibeen reported from itho Statutes Revision Committee, though it paesed the Legislative Council, where jit originated and received a very hostile welcome from Labourites in th<£ House of Representatives.
