Milburn Stewart, of Devonport, who hits been undergoing treatment for war injuries in the Trentham Military Hospital, returned to Auckland by the Main Trunk express to-day. Mr. (J. A. Greenwood, manager of thr •Masterton branch of tlie Bank of Xew South Wales for the last ten Tears has been promoted to the position of manager at Hobart. Mr. T\"H. Pickering, manager of thr Suva (Fiji) branch of the bank, will become manager at Masterton. The death occurred at Gonville, Wanganui, on Saturday, at the age of 78 years, of Mr. Thomae Mitchell, who during a long fanning career owned a number of tho largest estates in tho Dominion. In 1908 he acquired the Richmond Downs I&tate. in t;hc Waikato, this being the last property owned by the Assets Realisation Board. m>. \V. Mr. Harris, who is quite a young man, leaves for Australia on Friday, and much sympathy is felt for him at .Waitii. , At the annual meeting of the WfcSlri Chamber of Commerce a presentation ol a gold albert and a fountain pen was made to Mr. J. McGregor, vice-president. Who is shortly leaving- Waihi for Auckland: An address, signed by the officers and members, vvaS also read, expressing the appreciation of fho members and townspeople towards Mr. McGregor. The presentation was made hv the Mayor, Mr. Donaldson, on ibehaM of the Chamvbar.
