OUTMANOEUVRED
RACING REPORT-INCIDENT. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. When the member for Napier gave notice to-day to move a motion that the House dissents from the report of the Racing Commission, Mr. Field, member for Otaki, who also represents an electorate which fears the loss of permits, inquired of the Premier if he would give facilities for the discussion of this motion, which he contended would follow the line plainly intended by the Gaming Act of last session. Mr. Field also suggested that nothing he done with the new bill until an' opportunity was given to clubs threatened with destruction to have their petitions considered by Parliament. "It is quite impossible for mc to answer that question," replied Mr. Maesey. "Place it on the Order Paper." Mr. Field: It will be all over before it is answered. (Laughter.) Mr. Massey gave another more conclusive answer by promptly giving formal notice to introduce next sitting day the Gaming Act Amendment.
